Point House

Work In Progress – New Build.

The Point House, located in within the coastal Mornington Peninsula, has been designed to offer its residence an expansive beachside home with panoramic views of Port Phillip Bay.

Drawing inspiration from its natural surroundings, the architectural language of the Point House is inspired by its context. Rising up from the ground, the bold concrete form of the entryway reflects the terrain of Mornington Peninsula, using the stone details to further represent the character of the rocky coastal landscape. The use of rich charred timber draws from tones of surrounding native Australian flora, providing durability to the facade that mitigates the erosive nature of this exposed coastal hilltop site. Landscaping around the property has been thoughtfully curated to promote biodiversity and enhance the overall integration into the site.

Inside, these natural materials continue throughout the home from the entry way to the luxurious master suite on the first floor. The house’s zoned layout divides it into three areas, allowing residents to easily close off unused spaces and tailor the space to their preferences, ensuring a flexible living experience.
