Wattle Valley House

Heritage Alteration & Addition.

Inspired by its leafy context and old world features, Wattle Valley House blends heritage charm with modern functionality in order to provide the clients with a timelessly elegant two storey home.

Our team approached this renovation with sensitivity towards the heritage elements of this contributory property, incorporating contemporary design elements in order to complement the existing building fabric. The original brick façade was carefully restored to its former glory, and the new extension at the rear of the property was designed with a striking steel framed window, seamlessly blending old and new.

Inside, the home was transformed with a modern, open plan layout that is perfect for entertaining. The steel frame doors in the living area open onto a beautiful alfresco entertaining area, providing the perfect space to relax and enjoy the beautiful Australian weather.

The renovation cleverly incorporates heritage features such as high ceilings, ornate cornices, and original timber floors, while adding contemporary touches like sleek kitchen cabinetry and state-of-the-art appliances. The result is a beautiful balance of old and new, creating a home that is both elegant and functional.

At DX Architects, we believe that a sympathetic renovation can breathe new life into a heritage building, while retaining its original charm and character. Wattle Valley House is a testament to this philosophy, and an example of our commitment to excellence in design and execution.
