Heritage Alteration & Addition.

DX Architects completed the major renovation of this heritage Hawthorn home, and the addition of a contemporary side addition to accommodate 2 bedrooms. On completion the property was sold by WhiteFox real-estate agency who described the property as;

‘Stunning from every angle. This hawthorn brick Victorian terrace set on 431m2 of land has been meticulously renovated to an exceptional level. Boasting 2 bedrooms, master with ensuite, 2 bathrooms and 2 off street car parks in this tightly held location. Single level living with sprawling gardens and a North East orientation ensures tons of natural light which flows beautifully through the New York style windows and plantation shutters.’

The interior was completed with custom painted black accents in the door hardware and tap fittings, and was complimented with oak timber engineered flooring. The kitchen was finished with timber grain panels and white 2 pac door panels, and entertaining style island bench was finished with waterfall edge stone benchtops. A feature glass splashback in the kitchen reflects light within the centre of the room. This renovation also included the installation of a custom manufactured, industrial styled steel framed glass windows.

Feature pendant and wall lights were carefully positioned to define the various functions of the flexible open plan living room. The construction phase of the Hawthorn residential architecture project was completed in June, 2017.
