DX Architects were engaged by SCS Property to select and develop a Future Homes design for a vacant site in Rosanna. Future Homes is an initiative by the Department of Transport and Planning to build better residences on suitable sites in key areas across Victoria with excellent access to shops, schools, green spaces and public transport with the aim to provide gently increased housing density for our growing population by integrating higher density housing that are high quality, sustainable and adaptable for future use. DX Architects worked with SCS Property to select a suitable Future Homes Exemplar Plan that could be best adapted to the specific characteristics and constraints of the site, including the larger site area, significant slope and outward views. Drawing on our extensive experience in site specific residential development, DX Architects worked closely with SCS Property to heavily modify the Exemplar plan in response to the site complexities and provide high quality residences to suit the demographical need.
Mountain View Residences provide 17 oversized, single level residences in 1, 2 & 3 bedroom configurations designed for high quality modern living. All residence layouts are exceedingly efficient, creating separate dormitory zones and large open plan kitchen, living dining spaces which connect onto private yards and balconies, with large windows capturing northern sun and outward views. Residences are exceedingly efficient with an average 7.5 star rating and incorporate secure basement bike and car parking, secure external storage and internal lift access. A central circulation corridor connects the communal zones, including an entry level veggie garden and a raised outdoor seating area with views towards the Dandenong Ranges to the east.
