Fitzroy Commercial

In order to maximise the return from this retail investment, a new tenancy was achieved by the subdivision of an existing retail tenancy. This involved a modification to the building to cater for a new entrance, which was developed closely with the council's heritage architect, to sensitively modify the 'post office' building.

  1. Fitzroy Commercial

Working sensitively within the heritage controls which cover the former Fitzroy Post Office building in Brunswick Street Fitzroy, a new retail tenancy was subdivided from the existing building. The new tenancy fronts Johnston Street and incorporates an outdoor seating area.

  2. Heritage Details

Existing heritage details were restored and modified to suit the new use. An existing window was converted into a central doorway, and a gate opening was cut into an existing wrought iron fence. New posts match in with the existing heritage details.

  3. Tenant Fit Out

The tenant fit out involved extensive coordination with new service upgrades and connections to suit the new use.
